Endobronchial ultrasound

Endobronchial ultrasound

Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) allows an ultrasound scan of the chest and lungs to be taken from inside the main airway. The small ultrasound transducer is introduced in a specialised bronchoscope and then transmits scan pictures of the heart, lungs and the chest lymph nodes. These allow biopsy and diagnosis of glands in the chest, something that would otherwise only be achievable by an operation.

Dr Navani has performed over 4000 EBUS procedures making him one of the most experienced practitioners in Europe.
